New regulations for nurseries in Kuwait

A new decision to regulate private nurseries has been endorsed by Hind Al-Sabeeh, the Minister of Social Affairs and Labour (MSAL) and Minister of State for Economic Affairs. This decision aims to prevent owners from making use of the nursery quarters for activities other than those specified in the license during or after official working hours.

The decision has authorized MSALís Women and Children department to accept license applications, and the Undersecretary has been authorized to issue them within maximum of 60 days, while renewing the existing ones within 30 days.
The decision bans anyone from residing in a nursery or hiring men (except as officers or security guards).

The decision mandates nurseries to organize sports, cultural and recreational activities for the kids during summer vacation and banned all operations during the afternoon periods. The decision also urged licensees to apply for renewal three months prior to expiry of their licenses.
