Kuwaitis to replace expats in Nationality & Passport sector

The Interior Ministry Assistant Undersecretary for Nationality and Passport Affairs in Kuwait, Maj. Gen. Sheikh Mazen Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah asked the administrative affairs to make a request to Civil Service Commission to provide to offer 1000 jobs to Kuwaitis, as replacement for expatriate workers in the Nationality and Passport Sector in various localities in Kuwait.

In addition to issuing electronic passports and residencies, the security sources mentioned that this is the largest number of workers that the interior ministry requires for one of its sectors, and that it is within policy to terminate 150 expatriates.

The 1000 workers would be distributed as 300 in e-passport section, 300 for Residency Affairs, 300 for service centres and 50 at the main office and 50 others for Residency Affairs’ main office.
