Kuwait to build largest of its kind Gold and Jewellery City
The Kuwaiti government has announced plans to build a special Gold and Jewellery City, which would the largest of its kind in the Middle East, spanning a total of 100,000 sqm in area.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has asked the Municipality to allocate an appropriate plot for this mega project, which would include a building to administer precious metals and special lounges for local and imported Jewellery.
The ministry’s letter to the municipality said that municipality approval was required, so that the project could be included in the ministry’s development plan projects.
The Gold City will also have labs for examining diamonds, offices for 300 employees, an archives section, laser and chemical labs, and employee training hall, apart from central, well-secure safe in each section, in addition to parking spaces for 500 employees and 1000 visitors.
Among the other facilities planned are, car park for employees spanning 10,000sqm, a centre for customer reception and a separate VIP hall.
