Ramadan timing for ministries announced

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) in Kuwait has fixed two different Ramadan timing for the ministries and other government departments.

While some of them will start at 9.30am and close at 2pm, others will start at 10am and close at 2.30pm.

CSC, in its decision, has urged the departments whose nature of jobs requires change in timing, to contact CSC for an appropriate schedule.

The ministries and agencies that begin work at 9.30am include the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Youth Affairs, Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Public Works, Information and Communications.

Others include Public Authority for Sports, Public Authority for Industry, Public Authority for Minor Affairs, Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources and Environment Public Authority. Among these are also Kuwait Ports Authority, Public Authority for Housing Welfare, General Department of Customs, Kuwait Fire Service Directorate, Bank of Credit, Kuwait Municipality, Zakat House, Civil Service Commission and National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters.

Meanwhile PACI has announced that the Ramadan work hours would be from 10am to 2.30pm and from 1.30pm to 6.00pm.

The first day of Ramadan will be on Saturday, the 27th May 2017.
