China Company to build two new hospitals for expats

The Kuwait Health Assurance Company (KHAC) has signed a KD162mn deal with China Metallurgical Group Corporation (MCC) for building two hospitals with a 600-bed capacity.

The hospitals are likely to serve insurance-paying expats who account for more than 70 percent of Kuwait’s 4.4mn population.

KHAC was established in the year 2014 by the government, in partnership with the private sector, aiming to provide healthcare services to expats, other than those provided by the government to nationals.

The Chief Executive Ahmed al Saleh who signed the deal in Kuwait with a senior MCC official said the contracting company would design, build, equip and maintain the two hospitals, which would be located in Al-Jahra and Al-Ahmadi districts.
