GCC Railway project tender to open for public bidding early next year

The Kuwait Authority for Partnership Projects (KAPP) will offer railway project tender for public bidding early next year, given, its commitment to implement the project jointly with other GCC states.

The project includes railway network linking Kuwait City to the airport, marine ports and other GCC states stretching a 511km long two-way railway line.
KAPP is also preparing to offer a tender to build the Khairan Power and Water Desalination plant for public bidding by this year-end.

The project, which is one of the major infrastructure development initiatives by Kuwait, is being developed as part of the Kuwait National Rail Road System. It will serve freight and passengers, and have a 120kph regional lines speed and 200kmph high speed.

The project would be executed under the BOT (Build Operate Transfer) scheme.
