Expat visas of those overstaying annual leave may be terminated

The Manpower Public Authority in Kuwait are considering a proposal to cancel the visa of expatriate in case there is a complaint from the employer about the employee overstaying his designated annual leave period abroad.

The latest report says that the proposal allows employers to lodge complaint against employees who extend their leaves abroad, without a valid excuse.
In case the worker is found to be absconding, he or she is also likely to have their visa terminated.

The current law states that a residency visa is automatically cancelled if its holder stays outside Kuwait for more than six months.
