Kuwait to recruit 1000 nurses from India through e-migrate system

The Kuwait government has agreed to recruit nurses through the e-migrate system of recruiting nurses by the Kerala State government in India, for employment by Health Ministry through state-owned agencies.

Decision to this effect was taken during a high-level meeting between representatives of Kerala government, and Kuwait Ministry of Health officials in Kerala.

Discussions to this effect were held between the Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and other state ministers, with the Kuwait delegation.
Officials of the Kuwait Health Ministry will hence-forth directly conduct the licensing test and hold interviews to choose the candidates.

The Kuwait Contracting Agencies recruiting nurses in private establishments in Kuwait have been advised to get themselves registered in the e-migrate system. The Kuwait Health Ministry will take initiative to hold a meeting of Kuwait agencies to explain the e-migrate system. The representatives of the State-owned agencies would be invited to such meetings.

Measures to launch the recruitment process through government-owned agencies for recruitment of nurses to be employed in Kuwait Health Department will begin immediately.

This decision by Kuwait to make use of the services of State-owned agencies will be a great relief for candidates who were earlier fleeced by private recruitment agencies.

This decision was taken by the Narendra Modi government in the centre a year ago. It is aimed at regulating the recruitment agencies and he directed that all recruitments should be done only through government agencies. The Indian Ambassador to Kuwait, HE Sunil Jain also played a major role in implementing the decision by Government of India.
